03 December, 2012

I remember growing up, people would constantly tell me how I would suffer or 'die' when I enlist into NS.

Well, in the end, I was in the Air Force, served a year in the States & earned $2300 as an NSF =)

01 December, 2012

Stayed at Marina Bay Sands with Baby =) 30th Nov - 1 Dec. Hehe.

I love our room & the view it has! Beautiful, Gardens by the Bay is just right beside us, and lights up amazingly at night. We had an awesome international buffet, our 1 month anniversary dinner of knowing each other. The dessert was the best, and my plate was definitely more enticing than Baby's! Haha >.<

We walked around abit before heading up to the Skypark pool! Was soo nice to be swimming at 57 stories high with him, simply princeless.

Played Michael Buble christmas songs in the room when we got back, I love the feeling >.< chrismas is coming! We had a nice talk as well, so happy Baby opened up somemore to me. =) It just makes me wanna cuddle him and tell him I'm always here!

We woke up super early the next morning to catch the brightening of the Singapore Sky. Yay! So glad we did it. Hehehe. Tired as hell though! LoL.

I love the memories we create =))

25 November, 2012

Can we bring yesterday back around?
Cause I know how I feel about you now.
I was dumb, I was wrong, I let you down.
But I know how I feel about you now.

All that it takes is one more chance.
Don't let our last kiss be our last.

It was so easy that way.
Should have been strong.

There's a mountain between us
But there's one thing I'm sure of
That I know how I feel about you.

Life have been good thus far. It has been 2 months since I've gotten my freedom back as a civilian. I need to break the habit of thinking I am still an NSF. When people ask for my IC, I still give my 11B instead. Hahaha.

So, school have been managable. New standards of everything, but I'm prepared. LoL. Pretty much settled down and am a true blue Singaporean once again.

2012 is coming to an end! Acca believe it. Time is going too fast. LoL. But I am sooo happy christmas is arriving. The most wonderful time of the year~ Orchard have already started the annual decorations whereas my home's christmas tree was already up and done a month ago! =X We love christmas over here.

I am happy to be celebrating Xmas in the country, I remember last year's was the epitome of saddness. I spent it the States alone, driving around an empty city while everyone's gone back home to their families. This holiday is soo important to me.

Hope everything goes smoothly and I'll graduate Aug of 2013~~

XUANZY'S 22nd BDAE AT AZZURA BEACH CLUB

I was really excited about going to Azzura as I have not been there. A pretty nice place. Awesome music with a relaxed, beachy atmosphere.

It was great to be with my besties. Always awesome when we are together. I love being at Sentosa Island at night too, simply lovely.

Had a splendid time! HAPPY BDAE TO MY CUTE & BELOVED WHALE =)

And honestly, am I the only one who is freaked out whenever I see the Merlion at night. It scares me ever since I was a child!

04 September, 2012

So I have been back in Singapore for about 3 months now. Really happy! Got back into my local way of life fairly quick. Been given the same appointment I held prior leaving to the States. Thus, I am currently able to instill knowledge into the newer admin assistants, you know, now me being more senior and all. Hehehe.

Returning after a year, some places and things have changed. But that's Singapore, always upgrading. For instance, I completely didn't realise Tampines Bus Interchange's entrance relocated. First time I took the bus when I was back, it went a different way and I was like 'wait what?' LoL. Found out that they are constructing a new train station underneath it. By 2017, Tampines Town itself will have 3 train stations! Yessa! I will be: "Which station shall I use today? Hmmm.." LOL.

And there were also other small changes that made me confused a bit, like I was a foreigner. Ha. Those first-world pains aside, I am elated to finally see my family and fellow compeers. I miss them loads! Similarly, glad to resume hanging out at my favourite places like Orchard Road and Marina Bay area. I simply enjoy glazing at the skyline and being by the bay on a weekend night. Such a tourist, aren't I?

Now it's a week to my ORD date. What comes after that, only time predicts!

My Days In The States Have Come To An End

So in a week's time, I will be leaving the States and flying back to Singapore! Time really flies, I still remember a year ago, in the plane flying from LA to Tucson, Arizona, I did not know what to expect or what I would experience.

I would say I have learnt a lot of things about US I previously didn't know. For example, I always thought countries up north from Singapore would have cooler weather as it is further from the equator. I was sooo wrong! Gosh, the heat in summer here is unbearable. It gets to over 40 degrees here! I guess I should have researched about where I was going. Haha.

So I stayed in an Arizona city called Tucson. Honestly, I never heard of the city and realised I was pronoucing it wrong all the while before I finally reached the country. LoL. It is a pretty quiet city, nothing much to do. It is a desert city which explains the weather.

I would say the highlights of my stay in the States was when I actually travelled out of Tucson. Coming here, I knew I had to travel! All the cities I have heard about, I wanted to see. The first one, which I went with my superior, was Vegas!

All the lights and lively atmosphere, it was a world away from Tucson. Much to do and Vegas was exactly what I expected it to be EXCEPT that it had 40 over degrees weather as well! Urghh.

When my workmate asked if I wanted to follow him and his family on a tour from New York to Canada, I could no way not accept. Haha.

Landing at New York, I was excited. The skyline was amazing. Walking around the city, it was spell-bounding. We thought it would be colder though, but again, it was warm weather. I think a lot of people have misconceptions about the weather.

I was always fancinated about Canada. I always hear of people wanting to move there. And when I heard that Niagara Falls was on in the itinerary, I couldn't wait! Niagara Falls was more magnificent than I imagined. The power of the water and the roaring sound, it was so beautiful!

Canada is a beautiful country, the nature the country has, makes you feel so relaxed. And I went during the autumn season, the fall foliage was really nice. However, it was freezing cold! I know the weather never seems to please me. Ha.

When I saw the Singapore Airlines commercial of San Francisco, I knew I had to go there. I would say the people of SF are the friendliest of all cities I have visited in the States.
Great landmarks to see and lots to do.
I know it seems like I just spent my time here travelling, but NO. I worked majority of the time. I just decided to blog about my travels, cause nobody wants to hear about someone else's working life. LoL.
And so, after a year living in the States, I am ready to go back home. The reason I chose the posting to stay here was to experience a different life, so now I have experienced it, it's time for me to fly back.

So the verdict: I rather much prefer life in Singapore. I miss my family and friends, the food, the rain, the city, the beaches, the sea, the nature, the places I used to hang out and my way of life. I guess it's true that no matter where you are in the world, home is where the heart is.
But I will definately miss the people I have come to know and friendships I have made. Goodbye USA!! =)
